Introducing Biodry™

PFC Update

Halley Stevensons is committed to sustainable practices across our supply chain. As part of our initiative, we aim to remove PFCs (perfluorochemicals) from all standard collection by 2025. While PFCs are effective water repellents, eliminating them supports our sustainability goals.

This shift to PFC-free fabrics may change how materials interact with water, but we are dedicated to educating both the industry and consumers about these advancements. We are passionate about natural textiles and their unique benefits, though we recognize that understanding their performance can be tricky. To simplify this, we’ve developed a rating system that combines real-life and lab testing to clearly indicate fabric suitability.

Biodry is a plant-based DWR, derived from natural components. It is the past, present and future of natural performance fabrics.

Note: When making garments with our PFC-free fabric, it’s important to carefully consider design and manufacturing for optimal performance in tough weather.

 

The three protection tiers:

Drizzle: Designed to repel brief periods of light rain offering basic protection against light drizzling or misting. Suitable for short commutes or activities where minimal exposure to moisture is expected. Ideal for keeping you dry during unexpected light showers.

Rain: Provides protection from moderate rain showers. This tier offers water-repellent finishes, providing significant protection from moderate to heavy rain, keeping you dry and comfortable during your adventures.

Storm: Engineered to withstand sustained periods of heavy rain. This tier utilises our highest performance fabrics to keep you protected in downpours.

Stock availability explained

The ‘HS Collection’ is a range of fabrics that are in continuous production and offered on an “off the shelf” basis in a choice of colours. Ideal for express developments and orders we hold substantial stocks of these articles and are committed to replenishing the fabrics within a 8 weeks (if not available at the time of order).

Please note, The HS Collection includes all articles previously available as ‘Stock Supported’ or ‘Regular Running’ lines.

Bespoke manufacturing allows you to fully customise our fabric. We can colour match to any pantone or colour of your choice which can be dyed onto any fabric in our collection with any finish we offer.

*Lab work is required to be processed (Leadtime 2 weeks) and approved prior to production.
